During oversight measures aimed at the protection of water resources, inspectors of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia identified cases of illegal water use in the Ararat and Armavir regions.
In the Sayat-Nova and Hovtashat communities of Ararat Province, five individuals were found to have illegally operated a total of six artesian wells for irrigation purposes without water use permits.
In the Vagharshapat and Apaga communities of Armavir Province, illegal water use for irrigation was also detected from five wells operated without the required permits.
By decisions of the heads of the Ararat and Armavir territorial divisions of the Inspection Body, the operation of all identified illegal wells has been suspended.
