Today, Hovhannes Martirosyan, Head of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia, participated in a ceremonial event dedicated to the Professional Day of Geologists. Representatives of the legislative and executive bodies of the Republic of Armenia were also present.
Within the framework of the event, the Inspection Body and the Geological Union of Armenia signed a memorandum of cooperation. The document is aimed at strengthening oversight mechanisms in the field of subsoil protection and rational use, as well as enhancing the effective use of professional expertise.
In his remarks, Mr. Martirosyan expressed gratitude for the complex and responsible work of geologists, emphasizing that geology is one of the pillars of the country’s economic security and environmental sustainability. He noted that balanced subsoil use and environmental protection can only be ensured through close cooperation between state authorities and professional organizations, as well as through scientifically grounded approaches.
The Head of the Inspection Body highlighted that the signed memorandum provides a practical basis for improving the quality of inspection oversight. The involvement of the expert potential of the professional union will enable more targeted and science-based supervision in the field of subsoil use, contributing to the lawful and efficient management of natural resources.
At the end of the event, a number of outstanding specialists in the field were awarded certificates of honor and letters of appreciation.
