Today, Hovhannes Martirosyan, Head of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body, participated in a ceremonial session dedicated to World Meteorology Day, as well as the professional days of foresters, hydrologists, and meteorologists in the Republic of Armenia.
In his speech, Mr. Martirosyan emphasized the role of meteorological services in environmental protection, mitigating the consequences of climate change, and ensuring public safety. He highlighted that accurate weather forecasting and continuous data monitoring form a key foundation for both government management and various sectors of the economy.
Mr. Martirosyan also noted that the Inspection Body’s ongoing collaboration with relevant institutions contributes to improving oversight efficiency and achieving sustainable development goals.
During the session, current issues in the field were discussed, the main results of 2025 activities were summarized, and upcoming programs and new cooperation opportunities were presented.
At the conclusion of the ceremonial session, Mr. Martirosyan presented a letter of appreciation to Levon Azizyan, Director of the “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO of the Ministry of Environment, recognizing his dedication and professionalism in the development of hydro-meteorological and monitoring systems.
