At the initiative of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body, an awareness-raising meeting was held with representatives of Yerevan Municipality and administrative district leadership. The meeting focused on atmospheric air protection during ongoing construction and urban improvement works in Yerevan, with particular emphasis on reducing dust emissions and implementing preventive environmental measures.
In his remarks, the Head of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body, Hovhannes Martirosyan, emphasized the importance of the effective implementation of delegated powers to local self-government bodies. He stressed that strict compliance with environmental standards and requirements is essential during façade cladding of buildings, tile grinding works, installation of curbstones, construction of engineering and utility infrastructure, as well as renovation of underpasses.
During the consultation, Deputy Head of the Inspection Body Vrezh Ghaloyan, Deputy Head of the Urban Development and Land Control Department of Yerevan Municipality Ruben Khojayyan, and Deputy Head of the Nature Protection Department Gorik Avetisyan reached an agreement to organize joint inspection activities across all administrative districts of Yerevan with the involvement of district authorities.
The planned targeted inspections aim to strengthen compliance with environmental requirements, prevent dust emissions, ensure early detection of violations, and promote full adherence to environmental legislation by economic operators.
The Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body will continue to carry out consistent joint oversight with state and local self-government bodies, contributing to the improvement of atmospheric air quality in Yerevan.
