The Information Systems Governance Council of the Republic of Armenia has approved the digitalization concept for the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body, marking the official launch of the practical implementation phase of the reform process.
In this context, the Inspection Body has already begun modernizing its environmental oversight processes, with a primary focus on introducing a risk-based, digitalized, and preventive inspection system.
Today, an extended working meeting was held under the leadership of the Head of the Inspection Body, Hovhannes Martirosyan. The agenda focused on defining the roadmap for technical adaptation, database integration, and staff training arising from the concept approved by the Governance Council.
The introduction of new digital tools will transform environmental oversight into a fully risk-based and preventive system. This represents a fundamental shift from documenting environmental damage after it occurs to fostering a culture of early prevention.
