EPMIB Inspections Result in AMD 3.15 Million in Fines for Air Pollution Violations

As a result of intensified inspection measures carried out by the employees of the Environmental Protection and Subsoil Inspection Body (EPMIB) from 22 June to 10 July 2026, a number of violations of atmospheric air protection requirements were identified in Yerevan and the regions of Armenia.

The inspections focused on cases of illegal removal of fertile soil layers, transportation of bulk materials (sand, cement, gypsum, gravel) and construction waste without dust-proof airtight covers, as well as compliance with atmospheric air protection requirements at construction sites.

During the inspections, 45 cases of administrative violations were recorded, resulting in administrative fines totaling AMD 3,150,000.

The violations recorded by region are as follows:

Yerevan

• 5 cases of violations during construction activities;
• 12 cases of transporting bulk materials without dust-proof airtight covers.

Armavir Province

• 13 cases of transporting bulk materials without dust-proof airtight covers.

Kotayk Province

• 4 cases of violations during construction activities;
• 3 cases of transporting bulk materials without dust-proof airtight covers;
• 2 cases of illegal removal of fertile soil layers.

Gegharkunik Province

• 4 cases of transporting bulk materials without dust-proof airtight covers.

Aragatsotn Province

• 1 case of violation during construction activities;
• 1 case of transporting bulk materials without dust-proof airtight covers.
