The Head of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body, Hovhannes Martirosyan, chaired a working meeting with the senior management of the Inspection Body to review the results of its activities for the first half of 2026.
During the meeting, heads of the sectoral departments presented the results and key performance indicators of the oversight activities carried out during the reporting period, including inspections, monitoring activities, suspensions of operations, administrative proceedings, and preventive measures.
Having thoroughly reviewed the performance indicators of the structural subdivisions and assessed the effectiveness of the work carried out, Mr. Martirosyan outlined the priorities for the second half of 2026. He issued a number of instructions aimed at further improving the effectiveness of the Inspection Body's activities, with particular focus on digital transformation, mining oversight, biodiversity conservation, and the protection of atmospheric air and water resources.
Special attention was given to the progress of the preparations for the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP17). Instructions were issued to ensure the coordinated, timely, and high-quality implementation of all responsibilities and activities assigned to the Inspection Body within the framework of the Conference.
