According to Preliminary Data, the Voghji River Has Not Been Polluted as a Result of the Fuel Oil Spill – Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body

Last night, a road accident occurred on the Kapan-Kajaran highway, during which a trailer separated from a truck and partially ended up in the Voghji River, resulting in a fuel oil spill.

Employees of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body promptly arrived at the scene and conducted sampling of both water and soil.

Preliminary results of laboratory analyses indicate that the fuel oil did not cause significant harm to the environment. This is primarily due to its physical properties: fuel oil has high viscosity and solidification characteristics, does not dissolve in water, and is poorly absorbed into the soil.

Cleanup operations are currently underway to remove the spilled fuel oil. Upon completion, follow-up sampling and analysis will be conducted to ensure environmental safety.
