Damage of About 33.5 Million AMD Caused to the Lands of “Sevan” National Park: The Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body Submitted a Report to the Investigative Committee

Based on a report received on September 18 regarding waste accumulation in the territory of the “Sevan” National Park SNCO, the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body initiated administrative proceedings.

It was found that, due to improper supervision within the Sevan Forestry area of the “Sevan” National Park SNCO, a large amount of household waste of hazard class 4 had accumulated.

The unregulated organization of the waste removal process using heavy machinery led to the littering of 0.81 hectares of land.

An assessment of the damage caused to land resources was carried out, amounting to 33,484,320 AMD.

A report on the apparent crime has been submitted to the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
